Database of Charter Schools
The National Alliance collects and compiles proprietary education-related data from more than 7,500 charter schools and campuses, and merges this together with data from the federal government and state education agencies. This massive database covers all public elementary and secondary schools, school districts, authorizers, and management organizations across the 50 U.S states, D.C., Puerto Rico, and Guam. We maintain a variety of data including student enrollment, school type, and academic performance.
We also collect race/ethnicity, sex, limited English proficiency, and disability data.
Having this school-level data centralized in one place allows us to analyze trends in the charter sector as well as to promote and support high-quality education research. The Database holds hundreds of variables going back as far as 2005.
