The National Alliance’s charter law rankings shed light on how well each state’s charter school law compares to our model law. In our 12th edition, the state rankings come in nearly a year after the coronavirus pandemic began. Over the past year, we have seen enrollment in charter schools surge as parents seek different and innovative educational options. The states that rank at the top of our list are better positioned to meet the increased demand, but all states have areas to improve.
