Great Schools Recognizes 153 Public Charter Schools as College Success Award Winners

Today, Great Schools released their 2019 College Success Awards, recognizing more than 1,700 public schools in 25 states that excel in preparing students to attend and succeed in college. Of these winning schools, 153 are public charter schools.

New NEA Rankings of Charter School Laws Don’t Support the Creation of High-Quality Public Charter Schools for the Students that Need Them Most

Next week, the National Education Association (NEA) will release State Charter Statutes: NEA Report Cards. This new report grades each state’s charter school law in relation to the NEA’s 13 priorities for charter school statutes. Most of the NEA’s priorities however have very little to do with supporting the creation of high-quality public charter schools for the students that need them the most.

New State Charter School Law Rankings Reveal Improvements and Opportunities for Growth

The National Alliance released its annual ranking of state charter school laws in Measuring Up to the Model: A Ranking of State Public Charter School Laws, Tenth Edition. Over the past decade, this report has evaluated how well each state aligns its charter school law to a “gold standard” model law.
