We are an American Montessori Society and Middle States accredited school that serves students in preschool through sixth grade. Our program is centered on the writings and vision of Dr. Maria Montessori, providing a directed best practices learning environment. The school’s teachers and staff live the school’s mission of providing a quality and authentic Montessori education.

We are expanding our special education staff and are looking for a dedicated special education teacher to work with our students in a supportive, collaborative and inclusive environment. The special education teacher reports to the Special Education Coordinator and will be required to provide instruction which meet the needs of all students which includes:
• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students
• Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student
• Plan, organize, and assign activities that are specific to each student’s abilities
• Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one
• Implement IEPs, assess students’ performance, and track their progress
• Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students’ progress and goals
• Meet with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators to discuss student progress
Education and Experience

• B.A. degrees in education or related field required, M.A. in special education preferred
• Special education certification a plus
• Fluency or familiarity with Spanish preferred but not required
• Experience working with students with autism, learning and behavioral differences
• Have passion and dedication to students

● Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Drive
● A sense of humor
● A love of children
