Weilenmann School of Discovery is seeking an Executive Director to start school year 2020-2021. Responsibilities include providing key leadership; operational planning and management; financial planning and management; enrollment, recruiting and retention; compliance and fidelity; educational program development and management; human resources planning; and stakeholder relations. The Executive Director reports to and works closely with a board of directors to execute long term, strategic goals; directly manages the school’s 60 plus staff members; and teaches in the classroom in some capacity.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dynamic, and highly capable with proven educational and leadership skills. Qualifications include an advanced degree in an academic field of study or in education from an accredited university (PhD or MA); familiarity and experience with a collaborative administration and distributed leadership model; a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a high-level administrator with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in direct classroom teaching; strong strategic thinking and planning skills; strong communication and collaboration skills; knowledge of local, state, and federal laws applicable to public charter schools. Previous experience within a charter school environment is preferred.
