Pathways considers the unique needs of every student, allowing access to small group classes, guided independent study, online courses, and experiential learning, to address each student's individual strengths and needs.

Pathways In Education is looking for an Enrollment and Attendance Specialist in the Chicago area with strong administrative support and leadership skills to work at the Humboldt Park center. The Enrollment and Attendance Specialist will have the following responsibilities:
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:*
*Gathers and reviews attendance data to identify students who are excessively truant.
*Assesses students with attendance problems and makes home visits to assess the family environment.
*Collaborates with school staff to develop interventions for students who are truant and develops individualized service plans to improve attendance.
* Implements case management services (including individual counseling); monitors student/family progress; and makes referrals to other professional staff members or community agencies as needed.
*Serves as a liaison between assigned schools and such agencies as social services, court services, and the police department regarding student truancy.
*Monitors areas in the community where non-attending students are reported to congregate during school hours and takes appropriate action by executing enforcement steps.
*Assists with implementing truancy prevention programs for assigned schools and recommends strategies to support and improve regular school attendance (i.e.: incentives, peer groups, recognitions).
*Works with community to help students with job placement and internships
*Helps coordinate enrollment and recruitment of students from neighborhood schools
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Provide consultative assistance to school staff
Coordinate with law enforcement and other support agencies
Develop innovative strategies to curtail truancy
React calmly and quickly in an emergency situations
Observe situations analytically and make recommendations
Ability to travel to various sites throughout Chicago
Properly operate required office equipment such as a personal computer, fax machine, copier and the like.
Education and Experience:
Associate's degree. Bachelor's degree preferred.
One or more years of related experience.
Valid Illinois driver's license
