Salary: $180,000 to $220,000*
Status: Full time, exempt, in-person position

OVERVIEW OF ROLE
The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the vision, strategy, and ultimately direction of the network. The CEO collaborates closely with the Board of Trustees to set vision and objectives and leads the senior team to achieve these objectives on behalf of scholars and community. The CEO balances strategy and tactics, internal and external constituents, and the support of scholars, families, and staff throughout the network. The ideal candidate ensures exceptional outcomes for all scholars, has a deep commitment to racial justice and educational equity, and knows how to unlock the full potential of people in a relationship-based, results-oriented, and mission-driven organization.

Demonstrated results in leading outstanding educational outcomes through innovation across multiple sites simultaneously
Strategically gathers and thoroughly understands data and seeks feedback continuously
Demonstrated results in improving academic outcomes in schools that have historically and persistently struggled
Ability to develop bold organizational strategy in the midst of complexity and uncertainty to maximize organizational impact
Collaborate with board, community, and internal stakeholders to chart a bold path for STRIVE Prep's future in an increasing adversarial context
Can develop and name the STRIVE Prep Vision in a manner that is inspiring, attainable, and resonant across all stakeholders
Builds clear tactical plans and executes with discipline, tenacity, high standards, and attention to detail
Strong analytical skills and ability to creatively solve complex problems under time pressure
Capacity to make difficult decisions in order to ensure that resources are effectively allocated to address student needs and that both schools and the organization are financially sustainable
Can build and lead a senior management team that demonstrates trust, healthy conflict, and a relentless focus on results
Effectively manages direct reports by inspiring, developing, and holding school and central office leaders accountable to exceptional outcomes for students
Excellent at evaluating talent and effective at delegating key responsibilities to address individual skill gaps
Communication & Public Ambassador
Can effectively engage and inspire staff, families, and community through multiple media of communication
Capacity to manage through adaptive challenges in times of political change, with particular willingness and skill set to engage DPS Board in order to ensure operational stability for schools
Communicates with transparency and openness in service of broad consensus to lead organizational change
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Leadership
Is able to engage and inspire diverse internal and external stakeholders through multiple means of communication and engagement
High emotional intelligence, including self-awareness, deep listening skills, empathetic, and ability to deploy adaptive approaches to different contexts
Demonstrated progress on their personal DEI journey and the capacity to facilitate and hold space for others to engage in theirs

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (OR PREFERENCES WHERE NOTED)
Bachelor’s degree; Advanced degree preferred
10+ years of leadership experience in K-12 school settings
Experience with data-driven instruction and demonstrable gains in student achievement
Speaks Spanish and has experience working with bilingual students (Strongly preferred)
Demonstrated success working with students of color (Strongly preferred)
Experience in Title I schools (Strongly preferred)
Experience in a charter network (Strongly preferred)
Experience working in a school setting with students with varied disabilities (Strongly preferred)
Leadership development experience (Strongly preferred)
Campus culture management experience (Strongly preferred)
