The ASK Academy (Attitudes, Skills, and Knowledge), a 6th-12th grade charter school in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, is a STEM innovation school with a project-based approach to teaching and learning and was recently noted as among the top 10% of high schools in the nation by the U.S. News and World Report. The 550 scholars follow one of two career pathways—Biomedical Sciences or Engineering and Design. ASK Academy is entering its second decade and searching for innovative, visionary leadership from a CEO who would: ensure the school’s mission and goals are met; guide faculty and staff in maintaining the high standards held at ASK; lead in growth and sustainability planning and implementation; manage general organizational responsibilities; and continue building internal and external relationships to promote the ASK Academy.

Requirements include: a master’s degree or higher (doctorate preferred) in Educational Administration/Leadership or related area (e.g. Organizational Leadership); Educational Administrator licensure/certification (preferred); 5 or more years of executive leadership experience; knowledge of state and federal education laws and guidelines, including specific ones for charter schools; knowledge of public/school finance, including compliance issues, funding streams and working with a foundation (2 or more years direct work in finance preferred); exemplary written and presentation skills; and familiarity with ASK’s STEM focus and project-based learning approach.

The position will be available to begin the 2020-21 school year July 1st. The base salary for this position is currently $105,000 and is negotiable depending upon qualifications and experience. A benefits package is also available and will be negotiated with the successful applicant by the Governing Council.
