Virtus Academy of SC, a public charter school located in Florence, SC, seeks an
individual with public school administrative experience to join the administrative team of
a fast-growing school of Kindergarten through 6th grade students with approximate
enrollment of 305 students in 2019-20 and 502 projected for 2020-21. Virtus Academy
will grow to serve Grades K - 12 adding one grade per year. The school will move into a
new 60,000 plus square foot facility by August 2020. The school is sponsored by The
Charter Institute at Erskine.
Duties and responsibilities include assisting the interim principal in all areas of school
administration to include student discipline, duty schedules and supervision of students,
assisting with the creation of the master schedule, observing staff and participating on
evaluation teams, serving on staff recruitment and orientation teams, PowerSchool
discipline records and attendance/ truancy interventions, overseeing facility
maintenance and operations, coordinating with grade level and content area leaders on
curriculum, testing and accountability and other duties as may be assigned.
Compensation for the successful candidate will be based on education and experience.
Compensation will include a benefits package with SC PEBA health insurance, a private

possess South Carolina school administrative certification or must be in process of
completing a program of studies or transferring certification from another state to obtain
South Carolina school administrative certification.
Experience in project-based learning, STEM, Montessori and/or in charter school
leadership is preferred.
