The GVA Spanish Summer Language Camp Program will offer 315 K-8th grade students the opportunity on three campuses, Aurora, Northglenn, and Parker to study Spanish for three weeks through authentic, age appropriate fictional and non-fictional literature. The program is open to a total of 315 K-5 grade students, and they will be new to the languages and enter at a Novice range level students will study language for three weeks, for a total of 60 hours of target language instruction. All participants will see themselves language researchers exploring differences and similarities between the languages they are learning. Students will build on their acquired skills as immersion students during the school year--where they study subject content for 50% to 80% of the day in a second target language-- to learn a third language through listening, speaking, reading and writing about "Making New Friends Around the World".
Responsibilities: Curriculum development, lesson plan development, and classroom instruction for duration of program, plus one week of prep and training.
Hours and compensation:
Spanish language close to native speaker proficiency or higher and language teaching experience for at least 3 years preferred.
Hours and compensation: The compensation for this role is $30 per hour for 96 hours totaling $2880 for the summer program. The work days are as follows:
