Fiona Sheridan-McIver

Fiona Sheridan-McIver is the senior manager of government relations, initially starting with the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools as a Leadership for Educational Equity fellow. She previously served as a classroom teacher for 7 years, in both charter and district public schools. During her time in the classroom, Fiona was active in local educational advocacy work, was a member of her school’s leadership team, and co-lead the equity initiative in her school. 

She majored in Government at Colby College and has a Masters in Education from Hamline University.

As we all seek better outcomes for our children, charter schools provide an additional public school option for families looking for something different. The complexity of finding and financing a school building, however, is a drain on the time and energy that school leaders should put into building a transformational school. The brick and mortar building should be the least of a school’s worries.
