Candice Gayl serves as advisor, strategic initiatives, supporting external relations, strategic partnerships, and other special projects for the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools.
An Air Force veteran, Candice has a track record of success across multiple domains, including as a software engineer, in for-profit sales and marketing, and throughout the nonprofit sector. Candice specializes in program development and capacity-building and works with organizations to create and execute fundraising plans, establish and manage relationships with key stakeholders and funders, and craft location-based strategies for effective program implementation. Her entrepreneurial senior executive background coupled with her proven leadership at managing diverse teams consistently results in developing six- and seven-figure funding streams for her employers and clients, including Bellwether Education Partners, National Math and Science Initiative, GreatSchools, and the District of Columbia Public Charter School Board. Candice holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Strayer University. A Florida native, she now resides in Washington, D.C. with her family, where she actively participates in local education-related initiatives, including serving on the board of Beacon House and as a trustee for BASIS DC, a public charter school.
