Mike Murphy is one of the Republican Party’s most successful political consultants, having handled strategy and advertising for more than 26 successful gubernatorial and Senatorial campaigns, including 12 wins in “blue” states that have consistently voted Democratic in Presidential elections. Murphy has been called a “media master” by Fortune magazine and the leader of a “new breed” of campaign consultants by Congressional Quarterly. His past campaign experience includes serving as senior strategist for John McCain’s first campaign for President in 2000, as well as a dozen successful gubernatorial races including wins for Mitt Romney, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jeb Bush. He has advised political leaders in six foreign countries. A partner in the Washington, D.C.-based Revolution Agency, Murphy works as a strategy and communications consultant for a variety of Fortune 500 companies, tech start-ups and leading trade associations.

Murphy is also a well known opinion journalist; both in print and as a longtime panelist on NBC’s Meet the Press. He’s written for TIME Magazine, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, the New York Post and the Weekly Standard. In 2016, his election season podcast — Radio Free GOP — achieved one million total downloads and was reviewed by Vanity Fair’s James Wolcott as “… a weekly inside baseball bullpen conversation about polling, tactics and candidates' foibles so funny and informative that even a dyed-blue liberal Dem such as myself is addicted.”

Murphy also works as a writer/producer in the entertainment industry having written screenplays for HBO television, HBO films and Twentieth Century Fox. Murphy was born in Detroit, Michigan and attended the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. He is a Senior Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. Murphy and his wife Tiffany live with their young daughter Audrey in Los Angeles.
