Over-Age, Under-Credited Students and Public Charter Schools

National Alliance

Whether they have fallen behind in school or dropped out altogether, over-age and under- credited (OU) students are defined as not having the appropriate number of credits for their age and intended grade. The freedoms that public charter schools have lend themselves to the types of schools that OU students need to find success. This report offers an exploration of successes, strategies, and opportunities for expansion for charter schools that specifically serve the OU student population.
