Check out this great NY SUN article about Michael Benjamin. The Democrat assemblyman from the Bronx owes his recent fame to his fight save to the cupcake.  He pushed a bill to make the cupcake the official state children’s snack, thus circumventing some attempts to ban parents from bringing the delectable delights to their children’s school birthday parties.
