Position Summary
Education for Change is looking for dynamic and visionary educators who will engage students, parents, and other members of our learning community to ensure high student achievement. The Technology Teacher has multiple roles including delivering standards-based technology instruction, coordinating and maintaining most site hardware and software needs, and assisting in management of Achieve's blended learning program. The Teacher provides instructional leadership to students and actively participates in and contributes to a collaborative, results-oriented professional learning community. S/he engages community partners and families in serving the whole child and ensuring ALL children achieve at high levels prepared to succeed in any setting. S/he will know how to successfully work in an urban elementary school with a high English Learner and low-income population.

• Develop and teach comprehensive digital literacy skills curriculum based on National Educational Technology Standards to students grades TK-5.
• Collaborate with regular classroom teachers to support students in applying technology skills into ongoing units of study
• Meet regularly with other technology teachers within EFC to ensure consistent curriculum and student outcomes
• Provide a classroom climate and learning experiences that further our students’ social, emotional, physical, and academic development
• Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and supportive classroom and school environment that values learning and achievement
• Demonstrate respect and understanding of students and families from diverse backgrounds
• Assess students regularly
• Use assessment results and student needs to inform and differentiate instruction
• Identify unique student needs and collaborate with team members to effectively address those needs; when necessary, refer to appropriate resources, such as health and psychological services
• Involve students’ families as partners
• Communicate regularly with students and families about student learning
• Actively participate in professional development opportunities
• Maintain accurate student records, including attendance
• Support the mission, vision, and core values of Education for Change
• Attend a mandatory new teacher training
Education and/or Experience
• MSTC, Single Subject credential, OR BA/BS in related field AND 2+ years of experience integrating technology into curriculum or leading a technology-based classroom.
• K-5 grade experience strongly preferred.

Other Qualifications
• Experience teaching a technology curriculum based on ISTE standards a plus.
• Experience in a training oneself in new technology, hardware and software. The proven ability to problem solve and seek help from a variety of sources as needed.
• Strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with data dashboards and/or online curricula a plus
• Familiarity with International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards
• Excellent organization, time management and followup skills; high sense of commitment; ability to work as part of a team
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively
• Driven adult learner dedicated to his or her own professional growth with an inquiry orientation to his or her own practice
• Able to work in a creative and demanding learning environment, including the ability to problem solve and manage ambiguity and adversity
• Commitment to the vision, mission and guiding principles of the School
• Sense of humor, high ethical professional standards, equity perspective
• Computer literate and comfortable with acquiring new technology skills
• Able to obtain California Driver's License with a clean DMV printout
• Able to pass state and federal background checks
• Able to obtain First Aid/CPR Certification
• Clear TB and criminal background check upon hire
