Position Description:
The Teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where scholars have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual, and psychological growth. This person is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program that will result in scholars achieving academic success in accordance with the Danielson’s Framework.
Primary Responsibilities:
Evaluation of the effectiveness of this individual should include but is not limited to:
• Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where scholars are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
• Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the scholars with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
• Assists in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
• Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
• Uses data to plan differentiated lessons.
• Create instructional Curriculum map.
• Provides a positive environment in which scholars are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
• Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with scholars, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
• Collaborates with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
• Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with scholars, parents, peers, and community.
• Ensures that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
• Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with scholars, parents, and colleagues and the administration, as measured by the Danielson’s Framework Domain 4.
• Assumes responsibility for meeting his/her course and school-wide student performance goals as measured by interim assessments, unit exams, portfolio pieces, and the New York State Exams.
• Demonstrates gains in student performance.
• Participates in training and presentations about online teaching.
• Participate in common planning and professional development sessions.
• Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating.
• Participate in at least one instructional team/think tank.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor. All work responsibilities are subject to having performance goals and/or targets established as part of the annual performance planning process or as the result of organizational planning.
• Implements all recommendations from supervisors.
• Maintains satisfactory attendance and punctuality
• Possesses strong oral and written communication skills
• Communicates positively and respectfully to colleagues and supervisors
• Works independently when necessary
• Works as part of a team
• Accepts responsibility and is self-motivated
• Demonstrates strong work ethic to achieve academy goals
• Displays effective multi-tasking and time management skills
• Utilizes all required and recommended Danielson’s Framework Domains for Enhancing Professional Practice
