ROLE SUMMARY

The Data and Systems Analyst is responsible for the management, application of software updates, helpdesk support, report creation and maintenance of student and instructional related systems for the Alliance. The position is also responsible for streamlining current processes that support various system integration requirements, system stability and general system usability. This position will report to the Director of Student Information Systems.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide technical support to schools in relation to student information and instructional related systems.
Provide ongoing training to users at all levels within the organization that focus on the effective use of systems such as: PowerSchool, Pinnacle and CALPADS.
Integrate 3rd party student and instructional data systems with the Student Information System.
Troubleshoot problems related to new and/or existing systems.
Codify procedures and system configuration settings.
Analyze and streamline current processes and systems to determine and implement more efficient solutions.
Expand automation of systems to improve overall system stability, improve data collection/linkages across multiple data systems and support scalable future data systems integration work.

Understanding of the nuances of urban school environments and school culture

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Two years of data management work experience
Knowledge of PowerSchool and CALPADS a plus
Knowledge of Java Script, Java, HTML / CSS, STATA, and SQL programming, Microsoft Office (Excel) a plus
Experience with data reconciliation, quality control, and field mapping
Familiarity with system analysis and process improvement practices
