Alliance College-Ready Public Schools is seeking a special assistant to the CEO. This position serves as the assistant to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for performing top-level administrative duties in support of a fast-paced CEO. The Assistant to the CEO will report to the Chief of Staff.

Manage the CEO’s workflow and priorities by managing his schedule and anticipating steps ahead.
Prepare and brief the CEO for meetings, events, speaking engagements, and other activities by conducting research, compiling and quality controlling background documents, talking points, and other materials.
Support the CEO’s daily administrative needs, including managing an extremely active calendar of appointments; creating expense reports; making travel arrangements; developing and tracking travel itineraries; compiling documents for external meetings; organizing and maintaining files; scanning and copying documents for meetings; preparing agendas and minutes for meetings.
Work cross-functionally with other departments to collaborate as needed and to ensure that the CEO is engaged throughout the organization.
Compose and prepare memos, correspondence, presentations, and other documents that are sometimes confidential in nature; conduct subject-matter research; and analyze data.
Manage information flow, ensuring follow-up and engagement with appropriate internal staff and external stakeholders.
Manage special projects assigned by the CEO and Chief of Staff.
Proactively identify ways to improve the efficiency and efficacy of the CEO and the executive team.
Plan, organize, and manage logistics for special events and meetings.

Known for their integrity -- you always choose to make the right decision versus the easy decision. You know what information is sensitive, and you will protect it accordingly.
Excellent judgment -- you have the ability to make quick decisions with your gut and measured decisions with your head.
You have a positive, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset and are willing to take on “lower-level” and “higher-level” work based on what needs to be done.
You take ownership -- you constantly seek opportunities to optimize processes and improve efficiency. You’re communicative and comfortable working with and through a range of different people, and build relationships quickly.
You are resilient and flexible -- you seek out direct feedback and see every challenge as an opportunity to grow.
You are thoughtful and intentional -- you always think multiple steps ahead. Before asking questions, you prepare your own answers, even if they are just first draft thoughts.
You are resourceful and practical. You are able to take different kinds of input, quickly and effectively sort out action plans.
You are an effective communicator -- in every sense of the word. You are an especially astute listener and you pick up subtle cues that others may miss. You are effective in your spoken and written communication. You can be diplomatic, firm, gentle, and even pushy when you need to accomplish the goal.
You are even-keeled and can handle a hectic or intense environment. In an emergency, you are the calmest person in the room and can think with your head on straight.
You are detail oriented and conscientious. You cringe at typos, and you are the first to identify a formatting error. You obsess about the details (in a healthy way).
You are a big picture thinker. Despite all the details that you manage, you constantly “helicopter up” to see the big picture to help inform your thinking and prioritization.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)
At least 3-4 years of administrative or operations experience
