Opportunity to lead High Point Academy (HPA)
The Board of High Point Academy is seeking a school leader who will effectively drive the school forward with a commitment to the HPA mission’s motto of “Honor, Integrity and Service.”
The ideal candidate will have proven success in:
• Leading institutional focus on student achievement with a school culture that maintains a relentless focus on motivating students to achieve academic results and encouraging faculty collaboration to meet the full range of student needs.
• Developing highly-functioning teams of adults who implement systems focused on financial and operational sustainability.
• Strategically managing resource allocation and implementing change to be responsive to community needs.

History of High Point Academy
Since our opening in 2013, we have grown to serve approximately 1200 students in grades K5-12. HPA is sponsored by the SC Public Charter School District and is located in the upstate of South Carolina.

Duties and Responsibilities
The school leader will serve as the primary individual the board holds responsible for advancing the mission of the public charter school with a successful, student-centered educational program in a sustainable non-profit corporation. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Overseeing all day-to-day operations of a public charter school and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Cultivating an instructional program and curriculum that is aligned with state standards and supports individual student growth with a data-driven, proactive professional development plan.
• Developing a school culture of excellence and respect with high levels of accountability and personal responsibility. Upholding professional standards and a school environment that is productive, safe and focused. Working with faculty and staff to ensure student discipline policies
meet student developmental needs and are implemented appropriately.
• Operating the school within approved budget and follows budgetary guidelines established by the board. Ensuring the school is an excellent steward of all public and donor funds. Managing the budget planning process and implement sound business operations in compliance with all legal and policy requirements. Implementing ongoing fund development
plans to leverage diverse grant opportunities.
• Implementing human resource management policies and procedures. Overseeing the hiring, orientation, development, and evaluation of faculty and staff.
• Ensuring the Board has the information and data needed to make informed decisions about all governance related matters in a professional and timely manner.
• Implementing a comprehensive communications plan that builds internal and external relationships and communicates the vision of HPA to students, faculty, staff, families, and wide range of external constituencies.

Education and Experience Desired:
• Three years of experience as a school-based administrator with familiarity of charter school programs preferred
• Master’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university
• Proficient in MS Office, database management, and multiple forms of internet communication
• Teaching experience with a history of improving student achievement outcomes
