Brooklyn Prospect Charter School is seeking a motivated and creative High School Chemistry Teacher to join our team!

As a Science teacher you will help create and implement innovative curriculum designed to teach our diverse community of students.

About the Role:

As a teacher in our high school’s International Baccalaureate (IB) program, you will enjoy working closely with senior members of faculty, teach 4 sections of academic courses, lead an advisory, as well as other related duties.

As a Chemistry Teacher you will:

Plan and implement Chemistry curricula, unit plans and lessons that reaches the diversity of students and prepares them to excel on internal and external assessments.
Collaborate with co-teacher on modifying and differentiating lesson activities and assessments for individual groups of learners, some of whom are students with disabilities.
Work to develop students’ socio-emotional development as IB learners as a year long advisor of 12-15 students.
Work closely with peers, our school Principal, Department Head on ongoing professional development and coaching
Participating in the life of the school; contribute ideas and passions to the community.

About You:

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field
A Master’s or above is a plus
Current and valid New York State Teaching License
Experience teaching High School Chemistry
Experience with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and/or Diploma Programme (DP) is a plus.
