ROLE SUMMARY

Alliance is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to support all 25 school sites and the home office. As a key member of the Finance and Accounting Team, the Accounts Payable Clerk and his/her team manages the complete accounts payable duties for the Alliance. The position will report directly to the Controller, who oversees all of Alliance’s accounting work.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage Day-to-Day Accounts Payable
Perform accounts payable duties with accuracy and timeliness, including providing accurate data entry and general ledger coding to invoices, expense reimbursements and internal payment requests, and following up for proper approvals and clarifications.
Process and mail vendor checks on a weekly basis.
Assist in special projects and year-end audit schedule preparation.
Research and respond to internal and external inquiries related to accounts payable and various expense reports.
Manage Vendor and Customer Relationships
Handle vendor relations/discrepancies/credit memo/follow-up.
Maintain and update vendor files, set up 1099 vendors and maintain W-9 forms
Manage the timely resolution of inquiries from vendors and multiple entities.
Provide excellent customer service to the school site and home office employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

Prefer a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university
Prefer at least two (2) years of experience in Accounts Payable
Knowledge of SAGE MIP (desired) and MS Excel
Familiarity with accrual accounting
