The truth about charter funding in NY

Charter-haters are going to have to find a new mantra. The rhetoric about charters taking away district funding has earned a place next to the Inheritance of Acquired Traits...

Just like Lemarck's sounds-good-but-is dead-wrong theory on evolution, this common complaint about charters has been deflated by pesky facts. Check out the analysis done by the New York Charter Schools Association.

Too much talent for one baby alone!

Huge congratulations go out to Andy Rotherham and his wife who welcomed two baby girls into the world last week...

Rotherham (who moonlights as Eduwonk, heads Education Sector, writes books, pursues a Ph.D., and could probably do this if he wanted), is one of the sharpest and funniest guys in the business, and his wife is a brilliant and cheerful educator in her own right. Obviously, that was going to be too much talent for one baby alone. As it is, both will still make Chuck Norris's abilities look like William Hung's.

Best wishes to mom, dad, and the twins.

Joey Ha Ha Throwing off the Curve

Reporter, writer, and funnyman extraordinare Joe Williams has been blogging up a storm about charter issues in New York and across the nation...

All of a sudden, I'm in favor of a collective bargaining agreement among ed reform bloggers setting a limit on the number of posts about charter schools. Doesn't he understand that his prolificacy is making me look bad??? Whatever you do, please don't encourage him. So under no circumstances should you check out his recent handiwork.
