Nia Ariel Davis is the senior manager of policy and legal research for the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools. In this role, she supports the development, implementation, and dissemination of key policy and legal initiatives. Prior to joining the National Alliance, Nia was a legal fellow at the DC Public Charter School Board, where she reviewed DC charter agreements and provided support on other legal projects.
Nia strongly believes that a great education should not be the luck-of-the-draw, but a sure bet for every student, no matter their background. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center, having spent her time there focusing on education law and policy. Before attending law school, Nia taught English as a Second Language with WorldTeach in Ecuador and proudly served as a City Year corps member in New York City.
Nia has adopted DC as her city, though she will always claim her Trinidad and Brooklyn roots. In her free time, you can find Nia dancing salsa, catching a musical, or finding new ways to be a bon-vivant.
