Director, Communications and Marketing

A Washington state native, Katherine slowly made her way to Washington, D.C. by way of California and Colorado. Prior to joining the National Alliance, she served as deputy press secretary for the U.S. House Education and the Workforce Committee where, among other things, she focused on expanding the committee’s digital communications efforts. She has previously worked for the Denver Zoo in fundraising and has also helped manage several political campaigns. She first got her start in the education world by lobbying and testifying on a bill in the Washington state legislature while in high school. She is a proud alumnus of Claremont McKenna College with a bachelor of arts in philosophy and public affairs with honors and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She currently serves on the alumni board of directors. When not at work, you can find her skiing, traveling, baking, or spending time with her husband.
