2009 National Charter Schools Conference Concludes with Stirring Speech by Dr. Howard Fuller
The Alliance's founding chairman presented a stirring speech on June 26 in Washington D.C.  to 1,500 charter school supporters headed to Capitol Hill for the largest advocacy effort in the movement's history. “...If this movement is going to mean anything, we’ve got to close that achievement gap. We’ve got to eliminate that achievement gap.”

School board member and BHS alum Tamar Galatzan voted for conversion, reported the Los Angeles Times today. "My community is crying out for choices," she said.
